As he’s done for the past few seasons, Tommy Zula loaded up the sprinter van and set his sights west to escape the Ohio winter in the early months of 2021. This year, TZ was joined by his Airborne teammate, Jutt Wood. The two linked up with photographer/filmer Stephen Smith once they arrived in California and got to work and this edit is the result. Here’s what the dudes had to say:
“Sunshine, bikes, and good company: No better way to kick off the 2021 season for some pre-season early training and testing. Thank you everyone for the support! Airborne Bicycles, Shimano, Stans NoTubes, Vee Tire Co, Deity Components, Sensus grips, Fox, Nirvana CBD, Coal Headwear, Velosolutions, Pump For Peace.” — Tommy Zula
“Any time you can get out of Ohio during the winter to ride in warmer weather is a win, especially with some of my favorite dudes to be on the road and ride with! Southern California is where we chose. My Airborne Plague 27.5 was super fun to ride on the trails we picked, and also riding some dirt jumps on the new Verde Vertex DJ was rad too. I look forward to more trips like these in the future! Thanks everyone who made this trip happen!” — Jutt Wood
